Tokyo

Airports

Before your flight to Tokyo
  1. Complete the online immigration and customs form at https://www.vjw.digital.go.jp/main/#/vjwplo001. This provides two QR codes which expidite getting into Japan.
After landing and clearing customs
  1. Withdraw some yen from an ATM.
  2. Buy an IC card such as Welcome Suica or Passmo Passport.

Narita

Transportation
  • The Keisei Skyliner connects to Nippori station and the Keisei Ueno station.
    • You can buy tickets at the information desk in the airport for this.
    • This has reserved seating and is the fastest way into the Tokyo prefecture.
  • The Narita Express (N'EX) connects to a several stations including Tokyo station.
    • This is by JR East. You also need a ticket for this.
    • Tokyo, Shinagaya, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Yokohama, Ofuna.

Haneda

Transportation
  • Tokyo Monorail
    • This costs 500 yen as of 2023. You can swipe in with an IC card, though it may be possible to save a few yen with Yamanote-line combined tickets.
    • This connects to Hamamatsucho station on the JR Yamanote line.
