Airports
- Before your flight to Tokyo
- Complete the online immigration and customs form at https://www.vjw.digital.go.jp/main/#/vjwplo001. This provides two QR codes which expidite getting into Japan.
- After landing and clearing customs
- Withdraw some yen from an ATM.
- Buy an IC card such as Welcome Suica or Passmo Passport.
Narita
- Transportation
- The Keisei Skyliner connects to Nippori station and the Keisei Ueno station.
- You can buy tickets at the information desk in the airport for this.
- This has reserved seating and is the fastest way into the Tokyo prefecture.
- The Narita Express (N'EX) connects to a several stations including Tokyo station.
- This is by JR East. You also need a ticket for this.
- Tokyo, Shinagaya, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Yokohama, Ofuna.
Haneda
- Transportation
- Tokyo Monorail
- This costs 500 yen as of 2023. You can swipe in with an IC card, though it may be possible to save a few yen with Yamanote-line combined tickets.
- This connects to Hamamatsucho station on the JR Yamanote line.
